Reviews of our Caravan Site in the Forest of Dean

Our third visit here, love it. We venture off straight into the forest, walking or biking and explore different tracks each time. The owners Mark/Bev even allowed me to ride with them for their weekly fix, good couple of hours of sheer fun, what hosts they couldn’t be more helpful throughout our entire stay. We’ll be back for sure!
Lovely little site. Only 10 pitches, nicely spaced and right next to the forest. Owner, Bev, is delightful and super helpful. Small shower block with all you need. Grounds beautifully kept. Just ha a week there and have already booked for next year.

"Just had 2 nights at this fab little motorhome site. Spacious pitches, wonderful views and plenty of walks from the site. Facilities spotless and Bev the owner is very welcoming, friendly and exceptionally helpful. Couldn’t fault anything so will definitely be back. Thank you Bev"

."Our 3rd trip this year(April, August and October) to this beautiful peaceful site in the Forest of Dean. Hawthorne Cottage is our jewel in the crown and so convenient and handy for most things you require from a break away:- Local (from the site) - numerous walks and bike trails through the forest, a 6 mile walk on the Bream Heritage Trail, Walk to Parkend, walk to Bream and so much more. Trips by Car - Lydney( including the harbour), Tintern Abbey, Ross on Wye, Chepstow, Symonds Yat. Refreshments - Frydays chip shop(for takeways), and the Cafe both in Bream, Miners Arms in Sling. This 10 pitch site is a perfect spot to unwind, listen to birdsong, put your feet up, and enjoy the view! Very generous spaced out pitches and good toilet and shower facilities. All topped off with a very friendly owner/manager Bev who is an absolute delight to know and can't do enough for you. We're so looking forward to visiting again next year. August 2020 Review This peaceful haven set in the Forest of Dean is pure perfection for us for many reasons. Being only 10 adult only pitches, all that can be heard is bird song and the trees rustling in the breeze. An abundance of walks/cycle routes direct from the site. If you want to travel further afield a short car journey takes you to so many beautiful places such as Westbury Court Gardens(National Trust) Symonds Yat, Monmouth and the banks of the River Severn. Thanks to Bev the site manager for being a breath of fresh air and taking time to chat to everyone. She's an absolute gem, so friendly with a definite art for customer service, she's very efficient at managing the site keeping it clean, tidy and Covid compliant." I'll Howard & Julie x

Perfect for chilling & loads of walking from the site, plenty to see in & around the area, the site is 1st class, thank you Bev

What a perfect campsite! Just back from a quiet couple of days right next to the Forest. Idyllic and quiet! Pitches all well spaced and private and the facilities spotless. Bev is so friendly with lots of info on what to do and see in the area. We shall definitely be back. A lucky find. Nicola and David

Stayed 7 nights.. lovely quiet site.. owners so helpful with walks and local information... has everything you need to a relaxing getaway... would definitely stay again x thank you
Hawthorne cottage caravan and motorhome site is a small tranquil adult only site located in the heart of the Forest of Dean. The site and its facilities are meticulously maintained and clean. Bev who runs the the site seems to have limitless energy and is always on the go and yet still finds time to stop and chat. Incredibly helpful, nothing is to much trouble. There are a seemingly endless number of walking and cycling routes through the forest and close by are a number of interesting places to visit, including Puzzle Wood and the village of Parkend where in the summer you can book to take a steam train into Lydney and back.

A jewel in the heart of the Forest of Dean. From the site, you can walk and cycle straight into the heart of the forest. A short distance from the tranquil Cannop ponds, canoe or walk along the Wye river and climb up to Symmonds Yat. Spacious pitches, free wi-fi and exceptional customer service from the owner make it a memorable location that you want to return again to see the seasons change in this lovely site.
A lovely quiet and peaceful place right next to the forest with lots of walks straight from the campsite. The site is well spaced out and the facilities are spotless and clean. Bev was a lovely host and we can't wait to return
First time at a small camp site for adults only and an experience I'll be seeking to repeat. 10 pitches only and generously spaced. WC and Shower facilities kept spotlessly clean and make sure you bring a bag of 20p's for the shower. Owners very helpful with maps and area info provided on arrival. Tucked away. Absolutely loved it.
Bev is such a lovely lady. Nothing is too much trouble and always has a smile on her face. Site is beautiful, small 10 spaces in all, one shower but never had a problem with it not being available. Lovely dog walk few mins from site. Such a lovely part of the country if you like walking. Plenty if pubs near by with lovely views
